NYC City Proof 8 HR Extended Wear Lip Gloss

"Get color, care and shine in one simple step, with this long-lasting lip gloss. Made with Kokum butter, jojoba oil, grapefruit and Vitamins A and E. City Proof Lip Gloss fortifies lips with nourishing care, protecting them from the stress of the city. The result? Vivid, glossy, moisture-rich color that lasts for up to eight hours. "

The City Proof Extended Wear Lipgloss($3.49) from New York Color are a new launch from the brand for Spring. These glosses come in 10 shades and promise long-wear, keeping lips hydrated. The glosses are very pigmented and have a very smooth and creamy texture. They are slightly sticky but, I love the texture and the way they feel. The Kokum Butter in it makes it a very moisturizing gloss that hydrates well even without a lip balm underneath.

The color selection that ranges from nude pinks to glossy reds is just fabulous. I like to wear these alone since they pack a lot of pigment and don't enhance lip dryness. But, if you are looking for a long-wearing gloss that lasts upto 8 hours, this may not be it. I get about 3-4 hours of wear and the darker colors leave a slight stain while the lighter ones fade completely. They also have a slight sweet smell that isn't cloying. Overall, these are great moisturizing glosses but not very long-staying as claimed by NYC. I have yet to come across a gloss that stays put for more than 4 hours on me so, these are a great buy considering how well they are priced.

Have you tried the NYC City Proof 8 HR Extended Wear Lip Gloss?

  3. I was able to get one of the LE shades in Tangerine Crush from the City Sweets collection and I love it. Very impressed with the formula, especially at their price. Crazily enough, I was able to get mine at 75% off, wish I'd picked up more.
