Shiseido Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer Lipstick

Shiseido introduces six new shades of the Perfect Rouge Tender Sheer Lipsticks ($25) for Spring 2013. The Tender Sheers promise a wash of glossy color in one coat and a rich formula to provide long lasting moisture.

Featured here are Society (BR503) – an understated reddish brown and Foxy (RD506) – a deep reddish brown. Both lipsticks have subtle shimmer and pearlized finish that translates to more of a creamy sheen on the lips. The red metal packaging is quite nice, not heavy at all and they feature the words 'Tokyo Ginza' embossed at the base of the lipstick. The texture feels very soft and smooth while going on and the shimmer isn't obvious at all. I absolutely love these for the fact that they do not have any taste/scent and no heavy or waxy feel for a moisturizing lipstick! I do however recommend a good lip balm underneath. The formula is moisturizing, but tends to emphasize lip dryness after an hour or so. It may not be the most moisturizing lipstick out there, but it does manage to keep lips looking soft and doesn't dry them out any more than any other lipstick would.

Wearing Foxy (RD506)
The color payoff is great - even on my very pigmented lips, both colors turned out just the way they look in the tube. Shiseido describes the payoff as a soft wash of color, but I think its a little more than that. Society (BR503) especially has strong brown undertones, so I like to sheer it out just a little for a wearable, everyday nude lip. Foxy (RD506) on the other had is a tad more plummy and would work well on most skin tones. The staying power is about 2-3 hours, the average I would get from any such finishes. You don't need a lip liner with these as they don't tend to bleed and are pigmented enough to cover lips without filling them in beforehand!
