Barielle Brilliant Colors Summer 2013 Collection

Barielle's new summer collection, "Brilliant Colors", features five new summer appropriate cremes in very glossy finishes. While the formula was quite good, a couple of colors stained my nails very badly. Like all Barielle polishes, these ones too are 3-free.

Smarty Pants Pink - Cool toned, opaque pink. Not the most unique color, but the formula was amazing and the polish was completely opaque in two coats.

High Marks Purple - Gorgeous color for summer and fall! Its a purple creme with a touch of plum. Very opaque in just one coat, but I used two for swatches.

Magna Cum Laude Turquoise - Bright Blue Creme. The formula was a tad thick and quite difficult to work with. This one stained my nails - a deep blue stain that was quite a pain to get off. Pretty summery blue, not the best on my skintone, but a nice pick for lighter skin tones.

Head Of The Class Green - Its a bit darker than a mint green and quite opaque in one coat. This one too stained my nails. That apart, it is a beautiful color, great on toes and perfect for this time of the year!

Straight A Coral - My favourite shade from the collection! Its a lovely coral creme with a touch of red. The formula was a tad streaky, but not the most difficult to work with. Its a color I would wear anytime of the year!

Barielle is free of DBP, toluene, formaldehyde-resin, formaldehyde & camphor.

Price : $8 individually, $25 for the
Brilliant Colors 5-piece Kit.

  1. These are so glossy! The light pink might be my favorite -- I know there are tons of pinks in the world, but this one looks so pretty :)
