Clinique All About Shadow Single Eyeshadow in Black Honey

Clinique's reformulated All About Shadow Singles ($15; sephora.com) have gotten quite a bit of raves around the blogosphere. I was quite curious to try a shade or two since I quite liked the Shadow Sticks, especially Fuller Fudge which is a gorgeous chocolate brown. Black Honey, from the Single Shadow line was the color that intrigued me the most, especially since it looked like a perfect one to layer over Fuller Fudge.

Black Honey is a blackened copper-y brown with hints of burgundy and tiny flecks of finely milled shimmer. The shimmer adds a beautiful depth to the shadow and a gorgeous sheen. I quite like the texture too - its very soft, super blendable and pigmented with hardly any fallout. Black Honey looks great on its own all over the lid, which is my favorite way to wear it, with a darker liner and lots of mascara. Its also is a great color for the outer corners, crease or for creating a soft, brown smokey eye. Clinique's packaging for these shadow singles is nice too - small enough to fit into any makeup bag with a cute little mirror inside the compact. I can't speak for the textures of the other colors in the line, but if you love neutrals & browns in general, Black Honey is not to be missed!

  2. That color looks great with your skin tone. I read that this line of shadow was highly pigmented and long-wearing. Would you agree?
