L'Occitane Mer & Mistral Eau de Toilette | L'Occitane La Collection de Grasse

The Mer and Mistral EDT ($75; loccitaneusa.com) is a new addition to the La Collection de Grasse line of fragrances by L'Occitane. It is described as an aromatic blend of fresh and aquatic notes infused with hints of pine, cypress and rosemary. Other notes include Lemon, Mandarin, White Amber, Cedar and Musk. *Press Sample

Mer & Mistral is labelled unisex by L'Occitane and I'd have to agree. The opening is very zesty, lot of freshness from the citrus notes initially which later settle down to a soft floral aquatic with a musky dry down. Its quite a strong scent in my opinion and has the perfect balance for a unisex fragrance. It isn't too feminine, yet is soft enough to wear without smelling too much like a man's cologne. The packaging in cool blue is just beautiful and the lasting power is about 5-6 hours before it is completely gone. I wouldn't wear it any other season other than Spring/Summer though. Overall, if you like floral aquatics and fresh scents for Spring and Summer, definitely check Mer & Mistral out when you are at a L'Occitane Boutique next time.
