Burberry’s Holiday Collection, Winter Glow, features a new, limited edition Complete Eye Palette, Gold N0.25 ($60; us.burberry.com), featuring a mix of neutral browns and shimmery golds in gorgeous gold packaging. All four shades in the palette are very wearable, come with great color payoff and absolutely don’t disappoint.
Gold looks a lot similar to the Mocha Complete Eye Palette by Burberry, except the colors in this seasonal palette lean a bit more towards the cooler side. The two darker browns are a tad warmer, but the lighter colors are a bit more cooler and show up better when layered on my skin tone. The textures are fabulous and just as smooth as the single eye shadows by Burberry. There’s a bit of fallout from the shadows, but nothing crazy, so I’d recommend a flat shader brush to pack on the shadows, over a primer preferably. The colors are super easy to just swipe and go, pair really well with one another and look sophisticated despite leaning towards the shimmery side. Burberry does shimmers really well, they are finely milled and add a lot of dimension without the glittery, disco ball effect. A couple of the shades in this palette are quite close to Midnight Brown and Pale Barley Eye Shadow singles - the darkest brown in the palette especially is almost a dupe for Midnight Brown, while one of the lighter browns comes close to Pale Barley, which is a touch warmer. The packaging, just like last year’s holiday exclusive, is gold themed and stunning. Overall, if you love neutrals, subtle shimmers and colors that don’t need a lot of effort to wear, the Complete Eye Palette in Gold is perfect. I absolutely love it!
