Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Protectant Holiday Gift Set ($42; elizabetharden.com) features four of the brand’s 8 hour cream moisturizing treatments for face, lips and body. The set also come with a super roomy, gorgeous red travel bag. I recently traveled with the bag and was surprised at how much stuff fits in there. On to the kit itself, it comes with a full size of the Original 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant, an 8 Hour Lip Treatment and two travel sizes of the 8 Hour Cream Intensive Moisturizing Hand and Body Treatments.
The 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant is a multi purpose balm, which I quite like for my cuticles and elbows. Cuticles especially since it takes care of split skin and cracks so well and heals them super quick. The scent can be a tad too strong and medicinal, but I could overlook that a bit for the performance. The Lip Treatment is a light weight moisturizing base for most lipsticks and works as a soothing balm when used alone. I love the texture and how it doesn’t feel too waxy or heavy. The Intensive Hand and Body Treatments are both rich moisturizers that I much prefer to treat dry spots like cracked feet or dryness than on the whole body. They aren’t as balmy as the 8 Hour Skin Protectant, but absorb reasonably fast. The scent is quite strong though, but I use the body cream as a foot cream, so it doesn’t bother me so much as I always follow up with socks. Overall, its a great set for someone who wants to try the 8 Hour Skin Protectant formula - the Lip Treatment and the Original Skin Protectant are both my favorites from the kit that I’d get a lot of use out of this time of the year.
