Dermelect is a brand known for their Peptide Infused anti aging nail lacquers and treatments. Its a brand new to me and their Rescue Me Kit ($49; dermelect.com) is one of the first few products from the brand that I’ve tried.
The Kit comes with four of Dermelect’s nail treatments the Immaculate Nail Cleanse Prep, Launchpad Nail Strengthener Base Coat, High Maintenance Instant Nail Thickener Top Coat and the Rejuvenail Fortifying Nail & Cuticle Treatment, so here’s a quick rundown of them.
The Launchpad Nail Strengthener is a base coat that helps smoothen nail ridges and provide a clean camas for polish to go on. It does have a slightly blue tint on the nails, although that doesn’t alter the color of nail polish so much. The base coat is thin, dries quickly and does not contribute to polish bubbling or streaking. The High Maintenance Instant Nail Thickener is a rather thick top coat that seals in polish and protects color. It does take a bit of time to dry though, so not one of those quick drying top coats, but is quite nice at keeping color looking vibrant and glossy. The Immaculate Nail Cleanse Prep is a standard nail cleanser that goes before the base coat to cleanse the nail off of any oils and left over nail polish remover, leaving the nail surface dry and clean. Finally there’s the Rejuvenail Fortifying Nail & Cuticle Treatment which is a nail & cuticle treatment. A little goes a long way with this one. Its does smell slightly medicinal, but does the job well and effectively, helping with peeling cuticles. Overall, the Rescue Me Kit, is a great way to try out a few of Dermelect’s nail treatments and the base coat especially is my favorite and is well worth a pick up even by itself.
