Laura Mercier Tarte au Citron Eau Gourmande

Laura Mercier’s Tarte Au Citron range was repromoted this spring with a couple of new additions to the fragrance line. The Eau Gourmande ($55; lauramercier.com) is described as a “warm, sugary blend of gourmand ingredients inspired by the indulgent aroma of a freshly baked lemon tart in a French Patisserie!"

Its a gorgeous spring/summer scent, also lovely when moving into fall. I’ve only previously used the body cream from the Tarte Au Citron line and loved the sweet, yet tart fragrance, but the Eau Gourmande is quite different. It has a zesty opening, but the scent quickly turns into something more sweet and delicious, the dry down bringing more of the vanilla out. There are floral notes of Neroli, Jasmine and Anise Flowers list too, of which I get a hint of Jasmine the most.  I wouldn’t recommend layering it with the body cream so much though since the scent changes into something more synthetic, but worn alone it is lovely, quite fresh yet warm and sweet and lasts quite a few hours on me without fading too much through the day!
