Bite Beauty’s newest limited edition launch, the Frozen Berries Matte Creme Lipstick ($24; sephora.com’ July 16th in-stores) is a collection of five richly pigmented lipsticks in a creamy, semi matte finish.
The colors are all fabulous, the formula is super creamy and hydrating, just like the regular lipsticks from Bite. They are great colors for fall, and can be layered with Bite’s new Opal Creme Lipstick and Creme Gloss as well. The five shades include Juniper, a bright fuchsia red, Barberry, my favorite and a beautiful mauve plum, Elderberry, a vampy red with a hint of brown, Plum, a rich eggplant and Black Cherry, a deep Oxblood. I got to try out four of five shades, I found Juniper in two of the boxes instead of Black Cherry, but I will try to update the post with a swatch of Black Cherry included when I get a chance to swatch in store. As for the formula, I found it to be consistently creamy, smooth and extremely pigmented. Since the colors are saturated, they all leave a stain on the lips and feel amazing. The finish is not quite flat matte, but has a satiny sheen and is very creamy and comfortable for something matte! The formula is so creamy that the lipsticks can melt a little in hot weather. I would recommend a lip liner for these shades since they have great color payoff and a liner helps keep the color from moving around too much.
