Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream ($128 for 50ml; timetospa.com) is a daily anti aging, moisturizing treatment cream that claims to provide a progressive lifting effect through increased collagen support. Its a lightweight, hydrating cream that can be used day and night.
The cream packaged in a jar also comes with a spatula to scoop out product. The texture is beautiful and it absorbs instantly without leaving any kind of a greasy residue behind. It is quite fragranced though, but the fragrance is lovely and very calming. I’ve used this both day and night, in rotation with other moisturizers and love the gel like texture especially on hot and humid days. Although light, it manages to moisturize really well and keeps skin plump and soft for a few hours. I do wish it wasn’t so pricey, but I have been using it for a while now and I am hardly halfway through the jar. One qualm I have though is that the light texture might not be enough come winter, especially if used alone sans any serum or oils. While I can’t comment on the collagen boosting aspect of the cream, I can definitely say that it is a very nourishing cream for combination-dry skin types that is also quite firming. It layers really well under makeup too, leaving skin feeling a tad healthy looking and smooth. Elemis also makes a convenient travel size version of the cream which is a nice way to try out the formula before splurging on a full size.
