The Laura Mercier Editorial Eye Palette Intense Clays ($48; sephora.com) is a gorgeous eye palette with six very pigmented clay-textured, smooth eye colors. There’s also a translucent setting powder in the palette that helps prolong wear of these colors since they lean more towards the creamy, smudgier side.
The palette is a mix of matte and metallic finishes, all in the smoothest of textures. They are very pigmented, easy to smudge, blend and work with. The Matte Clays are perfect as liners, they are similar to Laura Mercier’s cake eyeliners, but smoother and easier to use when dry. The Brushed Metallik Clays are like cream eyeshadows with a metallic finish. I absolutely love this finish and love to pat and blend in with my fingers. The whole palette is perfect for an effortless, lived-in look and the darker colors make for perfect smokey colors that would work with just some mascara and a nude lip. The setting powder helps prolong wear quite a bit and sets everything in place, but I would definitely recommend a good primer with this palette. Overall, if you like cream eyeshadows and want something similar in a powder formula, try this palette. The colors are fantastic and is one of the most easiest to work with, texture wise.
