Essence and Catrice Spring 2018

Some newness from a couple of my favorite budget beauty brands - Essence & Catrice!

The Essence Ultra Last Instant Color Lipsticks ($4.99; ulta.com) are full coverage satin lipsticks. I can’t complain too much about the formula, though they can be slightly drying without a lip balm underneath. All of them were super pigmented, rich in color and very opaque in one swipe. I especially love 02 Cara Melted and 10 Pink Candy.

The Essence Butter Sticks ($3.99; essencemakeup. com) come in two finishes - glossy and matte. The mattes look very powdery matte, while the glossy finish is more of a creamy satin. Both formulas were comfortable and  easy to get a well defined lip because of the shape of the crayon. Sweet Frosting is my favorite of the four and a basic everyday color for me.

The Catrice Art Couleurs ($5.99; ulta.com) are eyeshadow singles that come in matte and shimmer finishes. The formula is smooth, easy to blend and pigmented. There’s a little bit of a fallout from the colors, but nothing crazy. Wild Ginger especially is a very beautiful everyday neutral matte eyeshadow.

The Catrice Strobing Blushes ($6.99; ulta.com) are beautiful everyday shades that can be swirled around to create a blush-highlighter effect without going overboard with the shimmer. Both colors have sheer-medium pigmentation and an absolutely natural finish. Its a great budget buy and a very smooth formula too!

  1. Purple Heart is a nice color.

Also, Apu, you should check out my most recent post. It's a bit sad.
