The Pure Genius Collection Kit ($80; sephora.com) is a great value set from Algenist featuring a few of their amazing skincare essentials. The kit comes with deluxe sixes of the Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser, Eye Cream, Day Cream and Liquid Collagen. The Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream is a beautifully light, day cream for anyone with dry skin needing a good radiance and moisture boost. It layers amazingly well under makeup too and feels undetectable. The Liquid Collagen is a nice serum to layer underneath your moisturizer and works even as a primer because of the slick texture that sinks into the skin easily. The dispenser is a little tricky to get the hang of, but Sephora has some useful tips on how to use it here. The eye cream feels similar to the Genius cream and is a moisturizing eye cream for anyone looking for a basic, yet hydrating eye cream. The Melting Cleanser is a gel cleanser that also removes makeup and leaves skin feeling moisturized without any dryness. I like to use it with a warm washcloth, as I do with all gel-cream cleansers. I do think that it struggles a little with waterproof eye makeup, but its a good skin cleanser if you double cleanse afterwards. Overall, a good value I’d say and a nice way to try out a good assortment of Algenist skincare.
