The Glow Play Lip Balm ($19; maccosmetics.com) is new from MAC, a gorgeous sheer lip balm with a smooth, slightly glossy, balm-like finish. I love sheer lip products and this one is super easy to swipe and go without any effort at all. The packaging is lightweight and see through. Rouge Awakening looks like a super bright red in the tube, but goes on to look like a sheer wash of an orangey-red that adds a nice pop of color. Sheer lipsticks are what I gravitate towards most of the time and this one has been on rotation a lot lately since the balmy texture and smooth finish is something that feels effortless. I found the formula to be moisturizing, but not overly so and it isn’t drying. Like most sheer lipsticks it lasts about 2-3 hours, leaving behind a light stain, although I cannot comment on how the lighter colors wear. There’s not much of a scent or flavor to this which I really appreciate. Overall, a good, lightweight summer lip balm that adds a wash of color and moisture in just one swipe.
