Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Eye Shadow in Pomegranate Punk - Review, Photos, Swatches & EOTD

The Color Tattoo Eye Shadows($6.99) by Maybelline are long-wearing, cream shadows that come in 10 shades with a vibrant, smooth finish. They texture feels similar to the Benefit Creaseless cream shadows and so does the packaging. These shadows pack a ton of pigment and are undoubtedly one of the best cream shadows I've tried in a long time.

Pomegranate Punk is a deep, plummy color with fine silver shimmer. The texture is very creamy but, a good primer will help these shadows glide on better especially on dry lids. When using as a base, you could use it alone though. I love to use Pomegranate Punk by itself as a wash of color over my lids. The color is easy to blend but, keep in mind that it is not very forgiving to mistakes. It starts drying up within a few seconds after you start blending and then the color stays put. Without a primer, it stays on crease-free for about 6 hours and a couple of hours more than that when used over a primer. Not quite 24 hours like Maybelline claims. Not that I would even wear anything for that long! It is waterproof too, so you will need a good oil based remover to get it all off. I've been using sweet almond oil to remove eye makeup. Makes the job so much more easier.

There are so many nice shades in the Color Tattoo range that I want to get my hands on. As far as Pomegranate Punk goes, it is a very deep, beautiful shade that can be used by itself or with colors like black, brown and grey in the crease for a more intense look. The intensity is buildable and the color is something that will look great on just about anyone. I love this shade so much and the formula of these eye shadows even more. They perform just as well if not better than so many pricier cream eye shadows in the market!

Have you tried Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Eye Shadows?

  1. This is really lovely. I thought it would look more red on the eye, but I am glad it is more purple based.
