Burt's Bees Intense Hydration with Clary Sage

A few skincare bits I tried out from the Burt's Bees Intense Hydration range. The 99% natural range features Clary Sage, usually beneficial for its essential oil, to hydrate & calm skin and retain moisture. Read on to see more about what I tried from the range!

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Cleanser with Clary Sage ($10) - It is a rather thick cleanser that I would recommend if your skin is dry, peeling and dehydrated. It is easy to spread and feels luxurious and very moisturizing, but be warned that it doesn't foam up that much. There's a very mild lather that gently whisks away dirt. It doesn't get every bit of makeup off my face, so I prefer to use this in conjunction with other cleansers. If you use it solely for the purpose of removing makeup, you may not get the squeaky clean feel. There's absolutely no tight, dry feeling afterwards and no residue left behind. I haven't had any problem with clogged pores or breakouts either. A great, rich, super moisturizing cleanser for winter or anytime your skin needs a break from harsh cleansers!

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Day Lotion with Clary Sage ($18) - I'm on the fence about this day lotion. It is hydrating enough for daytime and pretty effective on dry spots. It also soothes skin petty well, but the texture is very thick, almost like a mask and takes a very long time to absorb. It also feels a tad sticky until it sinks in completely. I quite like fast absorbing creams and lotions, so this is part of the rotation and I only reach out when I really need an extra layer of moisture and have the time to wait for it to sink in. It is effective and does what it says, but I wish the consistency was just a tad more easier to work with. The packaging is really nice though - I wish all creams came packaged in pumps like this.

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Eye Cream with Clary Sage ($18) - I use this alone or under makeup and it is one of my favorite products from this line! You only need a teeny tiny amount and it hydrates the under eye area really well without the heavy feel. It is great for day and night time use. The packaging is hygienic, but it does spurt out too much of product sometimes. That aside, it is a no-nonsense, hydrating eye cream for the under eye area. If you have fine lines cropping up and need a good cream to retain moisture, this one is a great choice!

Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Mask Treatment with Clary Sage ($18) - Burt's recommends using this mask as a weekly, hydration boost for skin. Unlike most face masks, it is recommended to be removed with a tissue and massage in the excess. The texture of this mask is quite thick, like a very rich cream and it never completely dries. I leave it on for a while, remove any excess and massage in as recommended  My skin looks so much more plump and hydrated without feeling like there's a ton of product sitting on top. It is not a deep cleansing mask, so if you are looking at something to unplug pores, this may not be it. But, if you want to hydrate your skin and give it a quick moisture boost, this is great. You won't need a moisturizer afterwards and probably not one for another day, if you aren't extremely dry to begin with.

Overall, if you have dry skin, the Intense Hydration line is worth checking out - the eye cream in particular. All products have a slightly strong, clean scent that lingers around for a while on the skin. Once the weather gets warmer, these might be a little too much for my skin, but it still is terribly cold and dry around here, so my skin loves the extra dose of moisture from these.
