REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

The REN Radiance Renewal Glycol Lactic Mask ($55) is a potent, exfoliating mask targeted at congested and mature skin, that resurfaces skin without too much irritation. The four-fruit-acid-complex (lactic, glycolic, tartaric and citric) and papain enzyme supposedly create a gentle-yet-potent exfoliating action on skin.

REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

I picked this up about a month or so back when I was on the lookout for a good, exfoliating scrub/mask for my congested skin. I wanted something a little more brightening, without stripping skin. I used to love LUSH's fresh face masks for a quick pick me up, I still like a couple of them, but as I am getting older, I've noticed that they do absolutely nothing in the long-term and some of them don't do anything more than just refreshing skin for a good ten minutes or so. The REN Glycol Lactic mask is quite pricey and very potent, as it claims to be. I have dry/sensitive skin, so I use this once a week or once in ten days if my skin isn't that bad. The packaging is really nice - you just squirt out a little from the pump bottle and close it with the stopper. It is a clear, gel like mask with a not so great smell. I leave it on for about 10 mins or so and wash it off with the small wash cloth (not pictured) that comes with the mask.

Now, this is not something REN recommends for very sensitive skin. I have quite sensitive skin and it left parts of my face - mainly my chin area just a tad red, which subsided within a few seconds. My face looked and felt a lot more smoother, brighter and polished. Be sure to follow up with a good moisturizer as it can dry out already dry skin a little more. Overall, if you are looking for a little strong, natural, exfoliating mask to quickly add some radiance back to your skin, the REN Glycol Lactic Mask is a great little skincare item to have. It claims to work well with acne scarring, but I haven't noticed too much of a difference with those, after a good 3-4 uses. Pricey, but works!
