nails inc. GEL Effect Polish in Porchester Square

Porchester Square is one of my favorite shades from nails inc. Its a murky, dull grey with a tinge of lavender that works as a perfect year round neutral. I picked up Porchester Square in the GEL Effect ($14; Sephora), which is a fairly new launch, a formula that claims to deliver "salon-quality glossy nails with a plumping effect."

The GEL Effect formula is a tad thicker than the regular polish and for something so thick, I find the polish to be a tad sheer - 3 coats gives you complete opacity, but I used only two, with a good top coat. The finish is very glossy on its own. This is of a consistency that needs quite a bit of patience and wait time for perfect results. I don't have either, so I ended up with not so perfect nails. But if you do have a problem with the regular polish chipping too fast (2 days on me), try the GEL Effect - I got 4 days of wear with a lot of tip wear and chipping by the fifth day. Not the most long lasting, but a day or two extra is still fine. Porchester Square especially is a very sophisticated, chic neutral that can be worn just about anytime of the year and the glossy finish is something I absolutely love. The brush is nice too, not too wide and perfect if you have smaller/shorter nails like me.

Have you tried any of the GEL Effect Polishes from nails inc?
