Some Recent Skincare I've Tried, Tested | Quick Reviews

Some recent skincare stuff I've been testing out for a while, with super quick thoughts on them!

Sanctuary Spa Therapists Secret Facial Oil ($36) - Sanctuary Spa is a brand new to me and I recently had the opportunity to try out one of their best selling facial oils. Its a quick absorbing oil with light texture that features a mix of various oils like jojoba, lavender, wheatgerm and vitamin E to help nourish and calm skin. It definitely is one of the lighter oils I've tried - great for this time of the year and doesn't leave me looking like an oily mess. I din't see any drastic improvement in my skin texture with his one, but it definitely was quite moisturizing without the oil-like feel. I like it more mixed in with lighter moisturizers than by itself. It also does a nice job of keeping cuticles tamed. If you have oily skin though, this can be a little too much.

Origins Plantscription Youth Renewing Face Oil ($49.50) - Its among best facial oils I've tried so far! The scent is amazing, the texture is super light, absorbs instantly and leaves my skin super soft. Reminds me a lot of the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate, only better. I only need a couple of drops of this for my face and neck. It also works amazingly well when mixed in with the Origins Plantscription Night Cream, another one of my favorites!

Origins Plantscription Youth Renewing Night Cream ($55) is a super rich, nourishing night cream for dry, ageing skin. For a texture so thick, it sinks in pretty quick and keeps my skin hydrated until I wash my face again in the morning. It does have a slight herbal scent, nothing too bothersome though. I'll most likely re-purchase another jar once I'm done with this one!

L'Occitane Iris Angelica Sublime Essence ($52) - L'Occitane's Sublime Essence is more of a texture perfector that also works as skincare under makeup. The scent is amazing and the lightweight essence leaves a matte finish on the skin, blurring pores & evening skin out. L'Occitane also claims that it helps with lightening scars, but I haven't see much of a difference with that. My skin does need a little more moisture, this time of the year, so I use this more like a primer, under makeup, but in the summer, it can be used as a moisturizer since the matte finish keeps you looking fresh and provides a clean canvas for makeup. Great for someplace warm or anywhere with quite a bit of humidity.

MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Renewing Cream ($27) - MyChelle's Pumpkin Skin Renewing cream is made from natural ingredients ,contains antioxidants and peptides to protect and hydrate. I started using this in the fall, but definitely needed something more hydrating as the weather got colder. Its a nice cream, but the pumpkin scent was a bit too much for me and think the gel-like consistency is better suited for someone with oily skin. If you do have oily skin though, give this a try and if you have dry skin, like me, its better suited for when the weather isn't so dry and cold.

Lastly a couple of fabulous eye creams I've been loving! The Caudalie Vinosource SOS Morning Eye Rescue ($34) which is good for day and night - very lightweight, yet moisturizing. I picked this up after reading some great reviews on Sephora. I do tend to get milia from very rich eye creams so this is of a lighter consistency with a good amount of moisture. Don't expect miracles with dark circles or fine lines, its just a basic eye cream that also layers really well under makeup. The Supergoop! Advanced Anti Aging Eye Cream With Broad Spectrum SPF 37 ($45) is another amazing under eye cream for the day - it does leave a slight white cast though, but doesn't rub makeup off or sting my eyes. There's also a metal applicator for a little massaging action, but I do feel that it dispenses a little too much of product, so I prefer using my fingers to pat the product in! Definitely recommended if you are looking for an eye cream with SPF that moisturizes without the heavy feel!

Have you tried any of these skincare products?
