Laura Mercier Smudge Brush Review, Photos

My eye makeup has been quite simple of late - just a little bit of cream eye shadow or primer, some kohl smudged with lots of mascara. For such a simple routine, I find the Laura Mercier's Smudge Brush ($24; lauramercier.com) to be an extremely useful tool that is now a must have in my collection.

Its an extremely well made brush that is packed with dense, soft natural hair. The tip isn't scratchy, so it works amazingly well on the lower and upper lash lines. Its smudges out colors beautifully, helps with placing colors close to your lash line and for precisely placing eyeshadows to set runny eyeliners. Its quite a versatile brush that I wish I had discovered much earlier! I've also used it to set my brows, in a pinch and it does the job quite well without leaving behind any harsh streaks of color. The brush itself feels very sturdy and is super easy to wash and dry. Overall, I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a small-ish smudge/eye shadow brush, especially if you keep your everyday eye makeup quite simple. Its also a great tool to have for a quick and easy smokey eye!

  1. I have to check this one out, I find most of the smudge brushes scratchy and definitely need a soft one :)!
