Guerlain Nail Lacquer in Gemma

Gemma ($25; shop.nordstrom.com) is one of eleven shades that was launched last year along with the launch of the Gloss d'Enfer Maxi Shine Lip Glosses by Guerlain. Although small, Guerlian's Nail Lacquer Collection has some amazing, classic shades that you just can't go wrong with. Gemma is one such beautiful, shimmery pink - its a light, soft pink with fine silver shimmer.

I love the formula, consistency and the brush. Gemma needed two coats to be fully opaque. The brush is a curved, wide brush that applies polish in one smooth stroke, to the entire nail. The curved edge also takes care of even application near the cuticle area. I like how the fine shimmer adds a bit of a gloss to the polish - you don't need a top coat, but I added one just to prolong wear. Gemma is a color that I can wear just about any time of the year. I got it earlier this Spring and have worn it quite a lot in the past couple of months or so. The polish wore about 3 days on me with minimal chipping, which is just what I get from most polishes anyways. Overall, although not the most unique, I still do love the color and if you like softer colors that don't necessarily fall into the pastel category, give Gemma a try. Its a good one to switch up in between all the summer brights when you want something low key.

Have you tried Guerlain's Nail Lacquer in Gemma?

  1. This is such a pretty pink on your nails! Usually baby pinks look grey on my hands.. which are irrevocably tanned at this point.. ! Any dupes for this?

    1. I have many pinks but no dead on dupes as such! I think this won't make your hands look grey..that fine silver shimmer does the trick :)
