I’ve been reaching out for more sheer, lightweight lipsticks of late, the more glossy, balmy, ones that don’t need much effort, and that’s how I usually prefer my lip products, not just for spring and summer. Here’s a roundup of my top 5 picks I’ve been reaching out to this season. More on glosses in another post!
YSL Sheer Candy Glossy Balm in Rose Candy ($34; sephora.com) - Love the lightweight texture, great color with a glossy finish and balm like feel. The formula cam be a tad drying in the winter, love it this time of the year though.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Confident ($36; chanel.com)- Great color, decent formula and super easy to just swipe and go. I’ve been reaching out to this one a lot and absolutely love it as an mlbb shade anytime. I used Pygmalion a lot last year and this year its Confident.
Jouer Lip Sheer in Lanai ($24; jouercosmetics.com) - While not the most flattering color on me, the formula is just what it is described to be - a lip sheer, with a glossy finish. I can’t find the color online and I’ve had it for a while, so not sure if its limited edition. I like this one for a pop of peachy coral, especially with quite a flawless base and the slim packaging is quite nice and the sheers come with SPF 15 protection. *press sample
Dior Rouge Balm in Escapade ($35; sephora.com) - I only had Primerose from the Rouge Baume range to start with, but this new addition is just the perfect nude and I like it even more than Primerose. The formula is not the glossiest, but is quite comfortable, almost like a tinted balm without any tackiness.
Tom Ford Lip Color Shine in Nubile ($50; shop.nordstrom.com) - Another nude that I love! I won’t say this is completely sheer, more like a semi-opaque formula, but the color is just the right shade of a pink nude for my skin tone, without having to mix and match with anything else. That said, the TF Lip Shines are a tad overpriced for what they are, but the color is definitely one of my favorite nudes for all through the year.
