Shelter Island (100ml, $260; 50ml, $195; saksfifthavenue.com), launched last summer is a unisex composition from Bond No.9. The perfume notes include Lemon, Black Pepper, White Lily, Seaweed, Oud, Sandalwood, Amber and Musk.
Shelter Island is a great unisex scent, but the lily notes make it a tad more feminine as it dries down. The fragrance opens up with fresh notes of Lemon, Pepper and floral notes from the Lily. The citrus punch tones down once it starts to dry down, bringing out more of the Sandalwood, Oud and Musk. There’s a certain creaminess to the scent as it wears down and it certainly is more of a grown up scent with great longevity. Its not too sweet, so may not appeal so much to a younger audience, but definitely a little more of a sophisticated, clean, fresh scent that is a great summer pick!
