Laura Mercier Eye Chromes Palette | Laura Mercier Chrome Extravagance Fall 2015 Color Collection

Laura Mericer’s Chrome Extravagance Fall Collection features a gorgeous new limited edition eyeshadow palette, the Eye Chromes Palette ($48; lauramercier.com), with a mix of four metallic, jewel toned shades that can be used wet and dry.

The packaging is rather beautiful and the shades work individually and when paired with each other. I would recommend using a flat shader brush or fingers to pack the color on. The shimmer isn’t too chunky, but there’s a little bit of fallout. The shadows work well under primer, the colors pop better and the finish is beautiful when blended subtly. Over blending can cause the colors to fade out a little resulting in just a wash of shimmer and hint of color. The textures are just right for this kind of a shimmer high, metallic finish and if you like a little more of a foiled effect, dampening the brush works to achieve that kind of finish. My favorite of the four is Aluminum Grey, which is just beautiful for a quick smokey eye.

    1. I usually go in for sheer washes of single shades and maybe a little bit of matte color along the crease to soften it up. These work very well as lid colors, imo!
