Essence Sheer and Shine Lipsticks ($2.99; Target.com) are a new launch, a balmy, sheer lipstick formula that comes in nine shades. It feels lightweight and provides a light wash of color. There’s quite a bit of shine once the lipstick is applied, although it does tend to fade overtime, leaving behind a light veil of color and moisture. Some colors that are shimmery also tend to leave behind bits of shimmer. The pigment is more on the sheer side, which I absolutely love. Some of the lighter shades do look more like a lip balm on my pigmented lips, while the darker shades look very pretty as a sheer tint. The lasting power is about a couple of hours, just like any other sheer lipstick and the shine is something I would have liked a little more of, but for the price, Essence has done a fabulous job with these!
