Laura Mercier’s Velour Lovers Lip Colour ($28; sephora.com) is a modern satin matte formula that is richly pigmented. The formula is weightless, non drying and a very comfortable matte to wear. The texture glides on effortlessly and feels like a lip cream. I love both the colors I tried - Sensual, a nude pink and Embrace, a mid tone coral pink. Sensual is a good one to pair with a smokey eye since it is quite nude on me and looks a tad washed out if not paired with a stronger eye. Embrace on the other hand has a little more color and looks like an everyday neutral. I get about four hours from these lip colors and the formula isn’t drying. There’s a very subtle sheen that fades after an hour or so and they don’t bleed outside the lip lines, but look more defined with a lip liner. Overall, if you are looking for a comfortable satin matte lipstick, definitely check out the Laura Mercier Velour Lovers range!
