The Extra Strength Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil ($8.99 each; ulta.com) is a new launch from OGX, targeted at dry hair. The line is infused with a repairing blend of coconut oil,vanilla bean oil and essence of Tiare to name a few. It is quite rich, thick and nourishing and better suited for hair that doesn’t get very oily with richer textures like these.
The Shampoo is quite thick, a little goes a really long way and is very nourishing. I found that the shampoo by itself was quite conditioning as well and din’t really need the conditioner, but if you have very dry ends, it sure does make a difference. Both the shampoo and conditioner are thicker than most I’ve used and also more concentrated. The Penetrating Oil is great on days when I like to air dry and is quite good at taming frizz. It can make your scalp oily though, if used more often, so be sure to use a clarifying shampoo in between washes. Overall, a great line for hair that needs a good dose of moisture, shine and bounce although if you have a scalp that can get oily easily, use it less often and most definitely not everyday.
