Makeup, Beauty and More: Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation

The Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation ($48; sephora.com) is new from Laura Mercier, a long wear, satin matte finish, medium-full coverage foundation. It comes in 20 shades and my shade is Suntan, perfect for my slightly tanned summer skin that I can wear well until early winter. The formula is very creamy, the texture isn’t too thick or thin and I prefer using a buffing brush with this foundation. It also blends pretty well with fingers. This really is a long wear foundation for all skin types. But for drier skin types, it needs a good moisturizing base underneath since it does set to a matte finish and can enhance a few dry spots, if any. The coverage, I’d say is medium-full with an easy to blend formula that won’t look cakey and doesn’t really have to be set with a powder. I do, however prefer a light dusting of powder though. I don’t have very oily skin, but I could tell that this one will not get very shiny and looked very fresh and flawless even after a good 7-8 hours on a hot and humid day. Overall, its a great long wearing foundation and the vast color range covers a lot of skin tones and undertones. If you want a lightweight, yet medium-full coverage foundation, this is one to absolutely look into.
