Ten new skincare discoveries that I've had on my skincare routine rotation this past couple of months. For reference, I have dry-sensitive skin and here are my quick thoughts on these new finds!
BYOMA Bio Collagen Radiance Mask ($16.99; ulta.com) is a great peel off mask for glass skin like results. Its a gel-cream texture that is meant to be used as a thin layer, left on for about 20-30 minutes and then peeled off. The mask, once dried, was fairly easy to peel off and left my skin feeling clean, smooth and very radiant. I recommend using it before an event and also following up with a good moisturizer to retain the bouncy, firm texture.
La Roche-Posay's Toleriane Moisturizing Milky Cleanser ($19.99; ulta.com) is a fabulous cleanser for dry sensitive skin types. I love the milky texture and how easy it is to use. I tried this as both a one step cleanser and as a second cleanseer and love it both ways. It left my skin feeling very soft, nourished and not at all stipped. If using as a one step cleanser, I would recommend using it on days when you have light to no makeup on since it works better on non waterproof makeup. I would highly recommend this if you have dry and or aging/sensitive skin and if foaming cleansers strip your skin away.
The Rose Oil ($19.99; heritagestore.com) and Rosewater Moisturizer Soothing Gel Cream ($22.99; heritagestore.com) are two products from Heritage Skin Store that I'm absolutely loving as part of my skincare routine. The Rosewater Moisturizer is lightweight and quick absorbing and the oil is non greasy. They are lightly rose scented and the clean ingredients are a plus. The Rose Oil is also infused with Squalene, while the moisturizer is enriched with Rose Complex and Niacinamide to boost skin health and brighten.
Bubble's Soft Swerve Barrier Restore Balm ($18.99; ulta.com) is a gentle, yet rich moisturizing cream that helps with barrier repair. Like most Bubble skincare, this one too is affordable and the ingredients are formulated with sensitive skin in mind. I like how this isn't too greasy or heavy and how easily it layers under makeup too. I also love the packaging on this one.
Two new products from Aprilskin I've been loving are their Carotene IPMP Hydromelt Cleansing Balm ($22; amazon.com) and A.C.E Mugwort Centella Calming Serum ($17; amazon.com). The Hydromelt Cleansing balm has carrot-derived ingredients for nourishment and softness and the balm itself melts easily. It emulsifies and cleanses easily and is ideal as the first step of cleansing. I use a warm washcloth to get it all off and follow up with a second cleanser. I love the texture and smoothness after cleansing and it did a great job getting all my makeup off. I'd recommend this if you want a quick and effective cleanser that leaves skin feeling comfortable afterwards. The A.C.E Mugwort Centella Calming Serum is a calming, lightweight serum for all skintypes, especially dry, stressed and sensitive. It is enriched with Mugwort and Centella Asiatica for calming and repairing the skin barrier. I use this after cleansing, sometimes after a toner. It is a great serum for sensitive skin that layers beautifully with other products and is quick absorbing and non greasy to use.
The Royal Tulip Elevate Crème ($42; ulta.com) is a new lunch from Bloomeffects. It is a collagen and barrier boosting moisturizer for dry sensitive skin that leaves skin feeling bouncy and soft. It is a rich cream that absorbs quickly and feels light afterwards. It is enriched with clinically active tripeptide, ceramides and emollients to deliver a high dose of moisture. The clean formula leaves a sheer, satin finish making it ideal as a makeup base too.
Retinol Line Smoothing Hydro Gel Patches ($31; ulta.com) is a retinol + bakuchiol and hibiscus infused eye patch from derma-e. It is a lightweight hydrogel patch that is easy to use. It is saturated with enough product that helps penetrate into the skin without feeling greasy or sticky. They also feel cool upon application and help with puffiness. I did see a little bit of smoothing effect after using for a good 15-20 minutes. If you have very dry under eyes, you might still need a good eye cream afterwards to pair with this. It's a good extra step to use a few times a week. I'd recommend a sunscreen afterwards especially for sensitive skin since it is retinol infused.
The Strawberry & Rhubarb Masque by Eminence Organic Skincare ($59; dermstore.com) is a quick and easy 5-10 minute mask that helps brighten and tighten skin. It is a cream mask that dries a little bit after a few minuets when it is ready to be washed off. I use a warm washcloth to remove once its done. I was surprised by how nice my skin looked afterwards and how bright and plump it felt. I could skip moisturizer, especially during the summer.
