Bobbi Brown Long-wear Gel Liner in Caviar Ink

I was never too sure I could believe all the hype surrounding the Bobbi Brown gel liners until I personally tried them myself. The formula is really creamy, glides on so smoothly and stays put for hours together.

They come in a variety of matte and shimmer shades. "Caviar Ink" is a beautiful deep brown-black that looks more like black than brown. It's not jet black and hence, is not very harsh. It's a soft, muted shade that can be worn with the slightest of effort.

I've tried many gel/cream liners and so far, this had proven to be the best. The packaging is classy and pretty to tote around. Many gel based liners I have tried, dry up as soon as they are applied on the eyes and make smudging a pain! These liners, have a setting time and make the job much easier and once set, they just don't budge. Love it!

Pros:
  • Super creamy formula.
  • Long wearing.
  • Easy to remove. It's waterproof, so you'll need a makeup remover.
  • Does not irritate eyes.
  • Great selection of shades.

Cons:
  • A bit pricey for the 0.1 oz./ 3 g amount of product.
I totally love the creaminess and warmth of this shade and the formula beats so many gel-liners in the market. This tends to be pricey, but is totally worth it. I'd love to try Ivy Shimmer Ink and Black Mauve shimmer next. What do you think? Do you like Bobbi Brown Long-wear Gel liners? Are there any other affordable alternatives you would suggest? I'd love to know!

  8. Oh nice!I use the Sonia Kashuk Bent eye liner brush. It gives me better grip than the normal angled ones. Does PF have a brush that accompanies the eyeliner?

  13. Does Target carry the brush?
Also do you wash your brush after every use? I feel like I need to, but it's sooo much work!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh yes,Target has the brush :) I wash it mostly; sometimes I just wipe it with a wet ones.Basically, I try to keep the head clean every time which is a pain in the a**

  15. Devie - Ditto ! These gel eyeliners are too much work..Esp when you have like 10 mins to do your makeup during work mornings..I really cant seem to fuzz with these things.I tend to wash them after every use. It is too much work. Pencil eyeliners are the easiest that way!

  16. Ahhh! Ok so I'm not being unhygienic!
I do keep my gel eyeliner for special occasions. For regular days it's pencil for me too!

  17. Jan - If you are running out of time, just grab a wet tissue or makeup wipe and remove the gunk. You could just tear a piece of it if you don't wish to use the whole sheet :)

  30. thanks for the review..Im dying to get my hands on this one..and the way you have applied your eye liner is soo beautiful and professional...I wish I could do that too ...:)Quick question - How do you apply the gel based eye liner?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey Natasha, I use the Sonia Kashuk Bent eyeliner brush and apply this with a quick stroke. If it's a liquid liner, I use short, steady strokes, but since this is a gel liner, a quick line with a bent brush does the task.Hope that helps.Try it and let me know :)
