Dior Vernis Couture Colour Gel Shine and Long Wear Nail Lacquer in Front Row 769

Dior's newly re-formulated nail polish line features a super smooth, gel-like formula of lacquers in old and new shades, ranging from gorgeous nude pinks to bright corals to vampy plums. I picked up a couple of shades to test the formula out and I'm sure I'll be going back for more!

Front Row 769 ($25; shop.nordstrom.com), is a shimmery hot pink, with a touch of plum and one of the newer shades in the line. Its a beautiful, bright pink for Spring and Summer. The formula is among the best I've tried so far - Dior's nail polishes were always one of the easiest to work with and that has only gotten a better with the re-formulation. Front Row is quite opaque in one coat, but I used two - absolutely non-streaky for a polish with this kind of finish and the consistency, although a little on the thicker side, still goes on smooth and easy. The finish is super glossy and the color is very saturated. I used it with Dior's Gel Top coat for some extra shine, but you could get away without any top coat. I'm not a fan of wide brushes, but this one is particularly nice since its curved to fit the nail shape, so there's a lesser chance of messing up your manicure. Its not as flat as it used to be, but applies polish in one single stroke to the entire nail.

I've had this for about 3 days now and so far, there is quite a bit of tipwear and minor chipping, but I'll update this post in a couple of days about wear time. Overall, I absolutely love Dior's fabulous new formula - it truly does mimic the look of a gel-manicure and is one of the nicest to work with. If you are on the lookout for a bright pink for the warmer months ahead, definitely check out Front Row - I absolutely love the fine shimmer that gives this color a lot of depth and think it would flatter a wide range of skin tones!

  1. I like the way it looks on you. I never really got on board with gel manicures. I stick with regular polish.

    1. Thanks, Chris! Its not a gel polish, as in, you don't need a UV lamp to cure. Its just gel-like texture, so the same finish without all that waiting time :) :) I don't like gel-manicures as such either!
