The Backtalk Eye and Cheek Palette ($46; sephora.com) is new from Urban Decay that features a mix of roses, mauves and a few warm browns. The color selection in here is gorgeous and the palette comes with eight rose toned eyeshadows and four blush/highlighters. The palette, inspired by Urban Decay’s Backtalk Lipstick, is perfect for anyone looking for an everyday palette with a wearable selection in a mix of matte and shimmery finishes. While swatching, I did find that some of the shimmers were a tad less pigmented for Urban Decay standards and needed more layering. The mattes wore good as sheer washes all over the lid and some of them look fabulous when blended out as transition colors. The blush/highlighters are all very flattering colors as a whole, but I did have to use a denser brush with them to pick up more color. Overall, the colors are gorgeous and the palette is wearable for most skin tones, but some of the shades (shimmers) needed a little more layering and a good primer underneath for better color payoff.
