Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadows

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadows ($18.50 - Singles; $28.50 - Duos) are a luxurious range of eye shadows that claim smooth, crease-free wear with added skin benefits that help firm and smooth the eye lid area. The shadows come as singles and duos in a wide range of extremely wearable colors.

The packaging is very beautiful, classy and easy to tote around. The single shadows come with a sponge applicator and the duos come with a sponge applicator on one side with a brush on the other. I much prefer using my own brushes to these. The shadows lean a little on the sheer side, but have a smooth, silky texture that blends beautifully. "Blonde" is a shimmery, pale gold, a lovely highlight that even works as a soft wash all over the lid. It does look a tad frosty in the pan, but the shimmer is less obvious when blended well. "Golden Orchid" is a light purple with gold shimmer that works great as a lid color too. The eye shadow duo in "Heathered Plums" is a gorgeous mix of a light metallic purple and a matte, dark plum, perfect for the crease and as a liner. The shimmer is super finely milled and adds to the overall sheen of the shadow. I like to use these with a fluffy brush as a light wash over the lid, most of the time. You could pack the color on with a flat shader brush and still never go overboard! They perform better under a good primer and don't crease, but tend to fade just a little after a good 5-6 hours.

I can't speak for the anti-aging benefits and lid smoothing qualities that these claim to come with, as I haven't used them long-term. Overall, if you tend to gravitate towards subtle, wearable, everyday colors, the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow range has quite a lovely array of colors to choose from!

  1. These are lovely. U shud buy the Emerald green coz its amazing. And not at all sheer. They retail for 1200 INR here in India and I loved them. Of course u wud need a creamy primer for better payoff.

    1. Oh I'll def. check the green out! Sheer is okay with me, better off than dealing with too much of pigment and fallout.
