Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation

"A multiuse powder foundation with a patent-pending formula that can be applied wet or dry for buildable coverage and a customized finish."

I picked up a deluxe sample of the newest Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation ($36) a while back at Sephora. The deluxe sample comes with a small handy sponge applicator that helps apply this foundation wet or dry. I use #128 in my absolute favorite MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation, so I picked up the same shade in the powder too (the shades seem to match well, but the liquid has a teeny bit more yellow in it). The texture feels really smooth and silky. I've tried using this both wet and dry, with the sponge provided and like it just a tad better when used dry. It has a semi-matte finish when used dry, but when used wet, it does tend to get a little patchy on me. The finish, however, remains matte for the most part, which isn't the best for my dry skin, especially this time of the year. On the plus side, the coverage seems pretty good and quite light weight even after building it up quite a bit. It doesn't settle into pores or fine lines if your skin is well prepped.

My biggest problem, however, with this foundation is the final finish, which just is flat and very powdery. If you tend to have dry skin, be sure to slather on loads of moisturizer beforehand. I quite prefer my foundations and bases to have a slight dewy, luminous finish. MUFE recommends using it wet for a slightly less matte finish, but if you have very dry skin though, it might still end up looking very matte. That being said, a light dusting of this, when used with a big fluffy brush, over BB creams and tinted moisturizers, works really well to set the product and even out skin tone. Overall, if you don't mind the matte finish, it is a nice little multi purpose product to have. If you have dry skin though, be sure to try a sample (hopefully Sephora might still have some deluxe samples) before splurging on the full size.

Have you tried the Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation?
