Lancome L'Absolu Desir Fall 2013 Makeup Collection

Lancome's L'Absolu Desir Fall 2013 Makeup Collection features permanent, and new limited edition pieces in deep, rich, fall appropriate hues. I have a couple of pieces from the collection here - L'Absolu Rouge Lip Colors in Caprice and Champagne ($30; lancome-usa.com) and Color Design 5 Pan Eye Shadow Palette in Gris Fatale($49; lancome-usa.com) . **Press Sample

Caprice is a bright, cool toned, rich red and Champagne is a shimmery medium pink. Both colors are from Lancome's permanent line, but the fall collection features exquisite black and gold packaging around the lipstick case. Champagne is a tad frosty and looks better with a gloss on top, than by itself whereas, Caprice, although a tad high maintenance, like most reds, looks perfect just by itself. The formula on these lipsticks are really nice - super creamy, great pigmentation and Caprice especially leaves a strong red stain behind. Both these are quite summery, than fall, in my opinion. But the collection does have a few berries and deep purples as well.

Top to Bottom : Caprice, Champagne
The  Color Design 5 Pan Eye Shadow Palette in Gris Fatale is a gorgeous mix of greys, a metallic taupe and a matte highlight. The color payoff is great, but the shimmery shades do have a little bit of fallout. The textures are very soft and blendable and the palette makes for an awesome smokey eye. I've only swatched these and tried them out a few times for the few weeks I've had them. My skin's been going through a dry, patchy phase, so hopefully I can get some face shots/EOTD soon!
