Wallet-Friendly Lip Products | My Picks For Summer

A few of my favorite, affordable sheer lip colors that won't break the bank!

Essence Lipstick in Miss Peach ($2.99; ulta.com) is a peachy coral with very fine shimmer. I love the color and the formula of this one and the Essence lipsticks in general. Its creamy, light and a nice coral for any skintone. The shimmer does tend to get left behind, which is my only qualm, but I can't complain too much for the price!

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinary Lip Color ($9.99; drugstore.com) is a slightly thicker lipgloss with a smooth, non-sticky formula. Nude Ballet is a rather pale nude for my skintone and looks better layered. It borders on washing me out a little, but the formula is nice and the range has some nice pinks and reds too.

Maybelline Color Elixirs ($8.99; ulta.com) are one of the best lip glosses at the drugstore for me. Caramel Infused in particular is a really nice, my lips but better shade for most medium/dark skin tones. Its non-sticky and slightly thinner than the L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinary Lip Colors. The color range is pretty too!

Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm ($7; burtsbees.com) is probably my favorite tinted balm in one of the most moisturizing formulas I've tried. They feel like a cheaper version of the new BITE Beauty BB for lips with a tad less pigment. I have here Caramel Daisy, which is almost clear and Hibiscus which is a sheer berry, both great for light washes of color and lots of moisture, just like the rest of them from this range.

L-R : Caramel Daisy, Hibiscus

NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait ($4.99; ulta.com)  NYX is a brand I've stopped venturing into completely after a few bad experiences with their products and also because how I can never, ever find even a single product that hasn't already been opened or swatched at the store. I picked this up to see what the hype is all about after a few raves reviews here and there, since my CVS had a brand new NYX display where everything was untouched. Its a really nice gloss that goes on super smooth and leaves lips looking shiny. It does feel a lot like the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors which I quite like too!

Korres Lip Butters ($12; sephora.com), while not a drugstore product, is still quite affordable and good value considering the quality and the amount of product. Wild Rose is what I'm loving currently, but I've tried quite a few of these, with Quince being my favorite so far. The colors are sheer and the formula feels great on dry lips.
