Kerastase Baume Double Je is a fairly new launch from Kerastase that is one of three new hair styling products that debuted this fall during NYFW. Baume Doube Je is a workable half cream/half paste consistency that offers medium hold and adds a bit of volume and radiance. It also adds a bit of texture and bounce to limp/fine hair and holds the style in place.
I work just a teeny tiny amount of this on damp hair and style as usual. I found the product to work better with the help of a dryer than when air dried. It does add a bit of a matte texture to hair and lots of volume, with a semi-strong hold that can feel a bit stiff initially, but gets better as the day goes by. It is great for curly/wavy styles than for someone with straight hair and the paste feels pretty weightless and non-sticky. If you have short hair, it would work wonderfully for natural styles without the need for much product at all. It can build up a little bit on longer hair, so I would recommend a good clarifying shampoo and going very light handed with the product as well.
