L'Oreal Colour Riche Color Caresse Wet Shine Stains

The Colour Riche Color Caresse Wet Shine Stains ($9.99) are new from L'Oreal for Spring, that come in 12 shades, ranging from everyday nudes and pinks to bright reds. L'Oreal describes the formula as "a lightweight lip stain designed to deliver long lasting color with a glossy, high-shine finish (vs. the matte effect that many stains provide). Never heavy and never drying, the weightless formula glides on for a unique lip color experience."

I quite like the packaging and the wand is a perfect size for smaller lips like mine. It picks up the right amount of product too. The texture is light, more like a gel-cream and goes on ultra smooth. The darker shades tend to get slightly patchy, so you may have to go over to even the color out a bit. "Pink Perseverance" is a light, pale milky pink that looks almost like a clear gloss on me. "Everlasting Caramel" is a slightly dark, creamy brown, a good pick for pigmented lips. It has slight orange undertones and can look a tad ageing, sometimes. "Endless Red" is a bright, pinky red with a beautiful color pop. Both Everlasting Caramel and Endless Red are quite pigmented, but the color can be sheered quite easily. The darker shades leave behind a gorgeous stain, which I had a tough time getting off even the next day! As for the finish, it is quite glossy and wet initially, but after while, it turns into a subtle sheen, not quite matte, which is good if you have dry lips.

Wearing Everlasting Caramel, slightly sheered out.

I found these wet shine stains to be very comfortable to wear, with no heaviness or tackiness. They do have a slight floral scent, but it is nowhere as strongly fragranced as some L'Oreal lipsticks. Overall, a really good buy and a great product that you can use anytime during the year for a natural looking stain, sans the dryness.

Have you tried the L'Oreal Colour Riche Color Caresse Wet Shine Stains?

  2. I too like the packaging. When I glanced at the photo for the first time, I thought they were YSL lipsticks. Nice job, L'Oreal. :)
